President's Message
I recently attended the AGA Sectional Leadership Meeting (SLM), and I was reminded by the fact that the Nashville Chapter is so incredibly blessed with such a rich history, dedicated members, opportunity and talent. Once again, I heard from other chapters in the organization who struggle to obtain good speakers or to have participation in luncheon meetings or events. I was humbled by the fact that so many of the smaller chapters have few opportunities to offer training and other benefits due to their limited budget and membership size. It reminded me of going to a third-world country such as many parts of China where they do not have the luxuries that Americans enjoy and how often we tend to forget to appreciate those advantages.
Many AGA chapters look to the Nashville chapter as we forge ahead plowing new ground or as a beacon shining the light for others to follow. I want to always be mindful of the fact that the Nashville Chapter has this advantage due to the hard work and dedication of the great leaders of the past as well as the great new leaders emerging every year. I am proud to play a small part in this chapter’s leadership.
As this program year is nearing an end, I want to thank each of you for your dedication to and participation in this chapter. It takes both leaders and members to make a chapter great, and the Nashville Chapter is just that.
Thanks,
Karen
