EDUCATIONAL ASSISTANCE SCHOLARSHIP In these tough economic times, the Association of Government Accountants, Nashville Chapter, recognizes the financial strain placed on our members and on their various educational funding sources. In acknowledgement of the situation, the Membership Committee of the Nashville Chapter will be offering up to eight scholarships to qualifying members in order to subsidize their attendance at the 2010 AGA Winter Seminar. The Early Career Committee will be sponsoring a scholarship for an early career member. The scholarships are earmarked for any member in good standing, who exhibits a genuine need for assistance in the payment of the cost of the Winter Seminar. We ask that you complete the on-line application. If you have any questions, you can forward them to the Membership Committee Co-Chairs (Ann Collett and Jennifer Lewis) via the link on our Chapter web site. The deadline for submission will be December 18, 2009. If you are awarded a scholarship, and then your employer subsequently pays all or a portion of your Winter Seminar fee, your scholarship, or a portion thereof, will be awarded to another applicant. We want everyone that is interested to have the opportunity to take part in training, so we encourage you to send in your application, so that you may be a part of this wonderful seminar. The scholarship recipients will be notified as soon as possible, and their names will also be announced at the January 7, 2010 AGA chapter luncheon meeting.
