Please come join us and participate at the upcoming events!!! Here is a listing of the upcoming events that we have planned.

 

·        Diabetes Walk – Saturday, October 11, 2008

Location: Nashville Zoo (Max points earned: 2)

The American Diabetes Association will once again host its largest annual special events fundraiser, Step Out to Fight Diabetes, at Nashville Zoo. Every fall, hundreds of people participate in ADA walks around the country to raise money for diabetes research and educational programs. Come join us as we participate in the Step Out to Fight Diabetes! To sign up to volunteer at the walk or participate in the walk, Please contact: Tammy.Thompson@state.tn.us 

 

·        Breast Cancer Walk – Saturday, October 25, 2008

We will be participating in the Breast Cancer Walk. Please contact:  Beth Pugh, BPugh@thda.org to register for this event

 

·        Nashville Union Rescue Mission -  Thursday, November 20, 2008
All those interested in volunteering to serve dinner from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.,

should contact Jacqueline.Laws@state.tn.usby November 3rd.    Persons interested can also make a monetary donation to the Nashville Rescue Mission.

 

·        Alex Green Pencil Project (Max points earned: 1)

For those of you who wanted to donate and did not get a chance we are still taking monetary donations for the school.  All donations received by the next AGA meeting will go to the school’s Art, Computer and Music Department to be divided up by need. If you want to make a monetary donation please make checks payable to AGA.  You can contact Tammy Fruscione at 615-747-5221 or by email at tammy.fruscione@state.tn.us

 

·        Second Harvest Food Bank (Max points earned: 1)

Don’t forget to bring your cans to the chapter meetings as we are assisting the Second Harvest in its efforts to feed the hungry in Middle Tennessee. We will be collecting the following items: canned vegetables, canned fruits, canned meats, canned/dried beans, rice, macaroni & cheese/pasta, and peanut butter.  A drop box will be located at the sign in table to collect your items. ·        Hands On Nashville Game Night – 2nd Tuesday of each month 7:00pm- 8:30 pm

Location: American Cancer Society (Max points earned: 1)

December Events

·        Channel 8 Membership Drive – December 2008

The date for this event has not been determined at this time, but will probably take place during the first 2 weeks in December. If you would like to participate in the membership pledge drive for NPT, please contact Jennifer.McClendon@state.tn.us or Julie.A.Rogers@state.tn.us to sign up.

 

·        Little Soldiers – December 2008

We will be participating in the little soldiers program again this year. Little Soldiers is similar to the Angel Tree program by providing gifts and supplies during the holiday season for children of service members deployed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
